Edgar Sewter Primary School
In September 2022, SEH French completed the construction of a new standalone classroom block at a Suffolk primary school.
The work at Edgar Sewter Primary School in Halesworth created an additional 105 spaces for children. Therefore, ensuring the growing local population do not have to travel far for their education.
SEH French worked alongside Concertus on the project, as part of the Suffolk County Council Framework. The start of work was marked with a turf cutting ceremony in December 2021 attended by pupils, staff, SEH French and Concertus.
The building consists of two classrooms, a library, unisex and accessible toilets, a medical room, and boiler room. Also, the facility at the Suffolk primary school includes a SEN resource base to support children with special educational needs.
In order to compliment the additional classroom block, a new hard play area was also provided.
Additionally, SEH French carried out extensive remodelling of the existing school to provide extra classrooms, staff space and external canopies.
The project also included assistance from our valued supply chain, including contractors Brook Electrical and Cooper & Brome Ltd.
SEH French would like to thank the headteacher of Edgar Sewter Primary School, Katherine Milk, and the wider staff. The school were exceptionally accommodating to our team, so it was a smooth process from start to finish.
Neil Pryke, Contracts Manager at SEH French, said: “It was a pleasure delivering this project with Concertus and our contractors.
“The school were incredibly welcoming and accommodated our work throughout. It was a real team effort by all.
“We take great pride in helping enhance yet another Suffolk primary school. Education is key and we are happy to play our part.”
