Brooklands Community Primary School
In December 2022, SEH French completed works to expand Brooklands Community Primary School on behalf of Suffolk County Council.
The project in Brantham has created an additional 105 spaces at the school, so the site can accommodate 315 pupils.
Plans for the expansion were made following the approval of a new residential development in the village. Therefore, new residents will not have to travel far for their children’s education, making the area more attractive to families.
The project involved the construction of a standalone classroom block designed by Concertus Design and Property Consultants Ltd.
Three new classrooms, a studio, small group room, toilets and additional parking have been provided as part of the works.
Additional work carried out included landscaping works, an overlay of the current playground and installation of climbing equipment. We also installed a porch entrance to the school and built storage for bikes and scooters.
The school’s headteacher, Christine Davy, and the rest of staff were incredibly accommodating during our time on site. We were also pleased to hear the children enjoyed watching the machinery and tradespeople as the state-of-the-art facility was built.
Simon Girling, Director of SEH French, said: “It was pleasure to provide this state-of-the-art facility to boost school places in the area.
“Ensuring children do not have to travel far for education is important for communities such as Brantham, which continues to grow. We look forward to seeing the benefits this facility has on local young people.
“On behalf of SEH French, we’d like to thank Concertus and our subcontractor and supply chain for their support.”
