Ashill: Accessible home
SEH French have completed works to provide an accessible home to a family in Ashill.
Works on the property in Fir Park came to an end in April 2023, and the family have been living in the property since December 2022.
The family required a comfortable, spacious and accessible home. In addition to their own living space, the property needed a sleeping area for a full-time carer.
SEH French worked on behalf Ashton Legal who were representing the family to provide a two-storey bungalow which met all their needs. The team worked with Gary John’s Architects, Edwards and Haynes Limited, FRITH:BLAKE Consulting Ltd, and their wider supply chain to complete the project.
The accessible home consists of five bedrooms, four en-suites and one family bathroom, a kitchen-diner, living room and snug. A therapy and treatment space has also been provided to support the son’s wellbeing.
Additionally, the property features two entrances and hallways, storage space, a plant room, and balcony on the first-floor master bedroom.
The property’s frame was constructed using SIPS panels with a buff brick façade installed to provide a modern aesthetic. A grey slate roof complements the buff façade and grey features throughout the exterior. In order to make it more energy efficient, the accessible home is fitted with two air source heat pumps and underfloor heating.
Neil Pryke, Contacts Manager at SEH French, said: “An accessible home makes all the difference to people who need them.
“Every stage of the project, from design to the finishing touches, has been completed with the family’s needs in mind.
“It has been a pleasure to build this modern and accessible home. We hope the family enjoys living there as much as we did building it.
“Thank you to Gary John’s Architects, Edward and Haynes Limited, FRITH:BLAKE Consulting Ltd and our supply chain for supporting us with the project.”
