RESPONSIBILITY

Corporate Social Responsibility is something SEH French is committed to with every project. It helps us remain accountable to ourselves, our stakeholders and the public. Each and every project we deliver helps enhance the local area and environment. That is part of our CSR responsibilities.

Whether it is our office-based staff or those working on construction sites, SEH French is confident it is our people who make a difference in the successful delivery of our CSR commitments.

As part of the One Group Construction, one of Suffolk’s largest privately owned companies, we provide exceptional customer service. We also boast highly skilled craftspeople and all-round professionalism across every single project. CSR forms an important part of this service.

We have always understood that both quality and good relations are key to a successful project. In any of our jobs, CSR is integral to this process. By engaging in a constant dialogue with all stakeholders (including a hands-on directorial approach), the hundreds of positive compliments speak for themselves. This is a result of conducting our business honestly, scrupulously and without deception and fraud. As a business we hold the ISO accreditations, further demonstrating our commitment to quality assurance including CSR.

Having an understanding of the community we work in is important for every project. We work closely with those affected by our activities and make positive contributions to the local community. At all times, we provide a level of care during projects to satisfy the needs of those affected and exceed expectation wherever possible. SEH French ensures local communities benefit from our work. For every £1 spent with the company, we provide £2.03 worth of economic benefit to local communities. Between 2016-2018, this totalled £35 million.

We have also been involved in raising money for various charities through activities and sponsorship and are committed to continuing our support. Our staff are also encouraged to ‘take a day’ out of work to volunteer with a local cause or fundraise.

As well as investing in the communities we help improve and support, we invest greatly in our staff. SEH French is proud to be an accredited Living Wage Employer, highlighting our commitment to our staff who make the company what it is. We also ensure they have all the correct training they need to help them progress and boost performance. As a local company, we provide job opportunities to local people, from those leaving education to experienced trades people. In addition, we provide them with any support they need to ensure their health, safety and wellbeing is put first. This includes access to counselling and support services, as well as providing training to raise awareness of mental health.

Our corporate responsibility is to provide long-term prosperity to our stakeholders. We do this by balancing the social, economic and environmental choices we make. We actively promote safe, ethical and sustainable working practices as the key to our continuing success. SEH French also supports suppliers to maintain a sustainable value chain to promote and contribute to the wider industry.

Today, SEH French employs more than 50 people and growing, achieving a turnover of more than £20 million. With further growth planned over the next five years, we are fully committed to ensuring our approach to Corporate Social Responsibility improves the lives of our people. We also strive to deliver benefits to the communities we serve, better the performance and reputation of our marketplace. We will also work to protect the natural environment that surrounds us.
