Anna ‘massively encourages’ more women to consider construction

New starter Anna Keeble said she would ‘massively encourage’ more women to join the construction trade to mark International Women’s Day.
Anna joined the team at the turn of the New Year, taking on an Assistant Estimator role after spending more than seven years with a local housebuilder.
She has hit the ground running since making the switch, drawing on from her extensive experience working on residential projects throughout East Anglia.
She said: “I got straight into it from school – I wanted a job with lots of training and progression opportunities, and given my love of maps and graphs I thought it’d be a good option. Over seven years later, I’m still loving it.
“I’ve always enjoyed following a project from its fruition – picturing things in your mind and then seeing it complete. You follow the projects closely throughout their journey.”
Creating an inclusive and supportive working environment is hugely important to us at SEH French – especially in an industry where less than 14% of the national workforce are women.
Anna said she is keen to encourage more women to enter what she says is such an open and inviting industry.
“It’s a really open industry,” she said. “In honesty, you don’t think about the gender differences until someone brings it up. Everyone works together.
“I’d massively encourage it to anyone. Whatever your skillset, there is a role out there for you.
“I love it here at SEH French. I only joined in the New Year but am enjoying it so far. It’s a really friendly team with lots of supportive people.
“If I could go back in time, I know I wouldn’t change a thing.”
